The Midtown Farmers Market, the year-round Saturday event that brings together farmers and their produce, food vendors, and craftspeople has been a Sacramento fixture since it first launched in 2013.

Different locations for vendors
Vendors at the Midtown Farmers Market are grouped together based on the products that they sell. According to a Midtown Association press release, some of those sections will be located elsewhere within the Market area, starting Saturday, Aug. 1.
Producers Plaza, where farms sell vegetables, fruit, and fresh ingredients, will move to Kayak Alley from its past location at 20th St. between J St. and K St.
Culinary Corridor, home to packaged and pre-prepared food, will move to K St. between 19th and 20th St.
Boutique Boulevard, where small business sell crafts and vintage products, will move to K St. between 21st and 22nd.

The shifts, noted the release, will allow for the addition of more than 20 spaces for new vendors.
Voting for best farmer’s market
In its press release, the Midtown Association noted that the Midtown Farmers Market is back in the running for the title of the nation’s best farmer’s market.
America’s Farmer’s Market Celebration, a contest run by the American Farmland Trust, “is the only annual ranking of the top farmers markets in the United States as voted on by the public,” according to their website. In 2025, the Midtown Farmers Market was voted the best farmer’s market in California, and the third-best in the United States.
Voting for the contest will begin on Aug. 1, and the poll will close on Sept. 30. The link to cast votes is markets.farmland.org.
