Danica Patrick is reminding women of the “harsh truth” of their 40s.
The 45-year-old former NASCAR and IndyCar star, who retired from full-time racing in 2018, took to her Instagram Story to share a brutally honest message for women across the world.

Patrick admitted that while some aspects of her 40s can be great, others can be tiring. The weirdest part, she says, might be that all of her friends are in wildly different places at this point in their lives.
“Being in your 40s is wild. One friend is a grandma, one has a newborn, one is celebrating 20 years married, and another is dating a 25-year-old. Half of us look 28, the other half pulled a muscle sleeping. 😂 No timeline, just vibes. 😭,” she shared to her Instagram Story on Sunday.
It’s been a fun 45th year for Patrick so far, at least.
The former NASCAR and IndyCar driver has some more free time on her hands, after leaving Sky Sports’ Formula 1 broadcasts.
“From my first Sky Sports F1 race in Austin to my last 5 years later… I had such a blast! The Sky team was so much fun (thank you all), I saw so many amazing new race tracks and cities, and got to be part of a huge boom in F1!” she shared in a social media statement earlier this year.

“I called after the last race in 2025 and said it was time for me to move on and I was so grateful for the opportunity and experience I was given!
“….and now due to my deep exposure to F1, I will be glued to my TV for the season starting this weekend, like every other fan!”
Patrick has been doing a lot of traveling this summer, too, clearly not letting life slow down despite her being in her mid-40s.
