Elk Grove is working to expand its arts and cultural offerings, and it is asking residents to help shape a new plan.

The city is developing a strategic plan for arts and culture, nicknamed “Creative Spark,” according to a city news release.
The plan is intended to “help guide investment, partnerships, and programming over the next decade so that Elk Grove continues to grow as a vibrant, inclusive, and creative place to live, work, and visit,” according to the city’s website.

“Arts and culture play a key role in building community identity, supporting local artists and creative businesses, enhancing public spaces, and driving economic vitality,” the website said. “Through this strategy, the city aims to better align resources and opportunities to support a thriving creative ecosystem that reflects the diversity, talent, and aspirations of Elk Grove residents.”
The city is hosting several pop-up meetings for residents and members of the arts community to provide feedback on the plan:

- Artists: 5:45 p.m. Sept. 11 at District56, 8230 Civic Center Drive.
An online survey is also open to residents.
