Danny Wimmer Presents, the group behind GoldenSky and Aftershock in Sacramento, announced the dates for the festival’s return following a two-year hiatus. Earlier this year, Sacramento tourism officials announced they would invest in the country festival for at least three more years, while the city’s partnership with Danny Wimmer Presents was extended for another decade.

A slew of new experiences, mirroring successful developments at this year’s Aftershock festival, will be added to the 2027 GoldenSky lineup, according to a news release from the producers.

When is GoldenSky returning to Sacramento?

The renaissance of GoldenSky will be Saturday, Oct. 9, and Sunday, Oct. 10, 2027, DWPresents shared Monday.

Country fans won’t have to wait long to learn who will perform — the lineup will be released Thursday at 10 a.m. In previous years, some of the biggest names in country music have performed at the Sacramento festival, including Shaboozey, Thomas Rhett, Tim McGraw and Luke Bryan.

Tickets will go on sale through the GoldenSky website starting Friday morning, in three waves.

Fans who sign up for text alerts will have the earliest access to the sale, at 10 a.m. Friday, followed by email subscribers at 11 a.m. The general public can buy tickets starting at noon. Subscribers can purchase tickets at the lowest available prices with payment plans starting at $1 down.

Ticket and pass prices were not shared in Monday’s announcement.

The River City Dance Hall and Overtime Sports Bar are expected to return with the festival, offering line-dancing lessons and weekend football games on big screens.

What is new at next year’s GoldenSky festival?

GoldenSky attendees will have the chance to camp for the first time, similar to Aftershock’s inaugural RV, car and tent camping options this year. Camping passes will include shuttles from the campground at Cal Expo and re-entry to the festival.

Fans who prefer hotels will also have the option to buy ticket and hotel packages starting at $10 down.

Five new food and drink experiences are planned for the festival grounds at Discovery Park, ranging from a California barbecue smokehouse to a tropical-country fusion bar. A tailgate-themed bar will offer snacks and lawn games, while a Wild West-inspired saloon will offer arcade games.

A new Country Club SVIP area will offer an air-conditioned lounge, all-inclusive food and drinks, a private elevated viewing area overlooking the main stage and more.

GoldenSky’s website and its social media acconts will include the most up-to-date information as tickets go on sale and the lineup is revealed.
