Another salmonella threat recall: Snack mixes, including Target’s store brand

A new recall on salmonella threats has pulled four brands of snack mixes made by John B. Sanfilippo & Son, including Target’s Good & Gather.

The last week of recalls and a USDA public health alert all ripple from California Dairies recall of dry milk powder over salmonella concerns. As with other recalled products, the snack mixes used a seasoning that contained recalled dry milk powder.

“The affected seasoning batches tested negative for salmonella prior to use,” John B. Sanfilippo & Son’s FDA-posted recall notice said. “However, the company is taking this action as a precautionary measure because of the potential that these products may contain the presence of salmonella.”

Aside from Target’s Good & Gather brand trail mix, these snack mixes were sold in retail stores, online and via QVC shopping network.

Good & Gather, 8-ounce bag, Mexican Street Corn Trail Mix, lot No. 6082GY5D, best by 23/MAR/2027.

Fisher Tex Mex Trail Mix, 30-ounce jars, best by 08/06/27.

Southern Style Nuts, Gourmet Hunter Mix, 23-ounce jars with best by dates 01/28/27, 02/05/27, 02/12/27, 02/17/27, 03/03/27, 03/14/27; 36-ounce cans, with best by dates 12/FEB/2027, 26/FEB/2027, 13/MAR/2027, and 02/APR/2027.

Southern Style Nuts, Hunter Mix, 30 ounce jars with best by dates 01/29/27, 02/03/27, 02/10/27, 02/19/27, 02/24/27, 03/02/27, 03/10/27, and 03/16/27.

Squirrel Brand, Travelers Mix, 16-ounce cans with best by dates 04/30/27, 05/28/27, and 06/24/27.

Squirrel Brand, Town & Country Mix, 16 ounce cans with best by dates 05/01/27, 05/25/27, and 05/28/27.

Squirrel Brand, Town & Country Mix, 7 ounce cans, best by 02/10/27.

If you have these, return them for a refund or throw them deep enough in the garbage that nosey pets can’t get to them.
