West Sacramento police said a 13-year-old girl who went missing Wednesday has been located safely.

The West Sacramento resident was last seen leaving her home on foot around 6 p.m. Tuesday, according to Facebook post Wednesday afternoon by the West Sacramento Police Department.
Police said in an update Thursday that officers were “received information” on the girl’s whereabouts Wednesday evening and was located with the help of a family member.

“WSPD along with social services facilitated the MPs safe return back to her foster parents,” said Andrey Kinda, a spokesperson for the agency.
The California Highway Patrol had activated an Emergency Missing Advisory for Yolo, Sacramento and Yuba counties to find the missing teen.
