Tandoori Pizza, an Indian fusion pizzeria in Sacramento’s Downtown Commons, has permanently closed, according to its Google page.

The closure comes less than a year after the restaurant arrived in DoCo, the popular downtown shopping district anchored by the Golden 1 Center.
The location was the 21st restaurant in the chain, which was started by UC Davis graduate, Tejinder Signh, according to DoCo. Tandoori Pizza has one other location in Sacramento County, in Elk Grove at 8234 Laguna Blvd. Tandoori Pizza Elk Grove opened in March 2025 and the DoCo franchise opened in October.
The franchise has locations nationwide but is primarily based in California. There are currently 18 locations across the Bay Area, Central Valley and Southern California, according to its website.

Tandoori Pizza is best known for combining classic Indian dishes, like tandoori chicken, malai paneer, curry chicken and chicken tikka and serving it on a pizza crust, the website showed.
The closure was a result of low foot traffic at the location, according to a report by the Sacramento Business Journal.

Tandoori Pizza did not respond to a request for comment from The Sacramento Bee.
