Noteworthy: Sterling set career highs with 353 passing yards and five touchdown passes in leading the Blackhawks to a 56-14 victory over Yucaipa in Citrus Belt League action last week. Sterling’s previous career bests came earlier this season: 257 yards and three touchdowns against Ayala. Sterling tossed four touchdowns to Jaymie Evans and also threw a 73-yard touchdown pass to Dylan Gallegos. He has passed for 1,699 yards and 16 touchdowns this season. The Blackhawks continue Citrus Belt League play Thursday night at home against Redlands. Citrus Valley can clinch a playoff berth with a win.
