The Tennessee Titans and the rest of the NFL are now entering training camp ahead of the 2026 football season. While some things have been good for the Titans, other things haven’t been as ideal, as the Titans have had their fair share of questions, comments, concerns, good news, and, of course, bad news.

This includes some bad news that the Titans received in a recent injury status update surrounding one of their starting offensive tackles and a former first-round selection in the 2024 NFL draft out of Alabama, JC Latham. Placed on the PUP list prior to camp, the Titans hope to have him back before the first practice, but that will not be the case.
The injury that he is dealing with just so happens to be a pec injury, which he suffered during the OTAs back in May, and it has been lingering ever since. Due to these concerns, the Titans couldn’t risk a bigger injury and have since opted to keep him on the list, but the real question is “what does this mean for the Tennessee Titans and JC Latham?”
What Does This Mean for JC Latham and the Tennessee Titans?
As for the Tennessee Titans, they will have their focus on beginning to prep for their first preseason contest as they are set to take on the San Francisco 49ers inside Levi’s Stadium on Aug. 13. The problem is that the Titans don’t have a ton of depth when it comes to the offensive tackle position.

As of now, the Titans are limited in options, as one of the few options that they have at the position is Austin Deculus, who graded as the worst tackle in the NFL, according to PFF’s season grades last season.
This would be a nightmare for the Titans. It leads into what is next for Latham, which is much simpler, as he is likely going to be put through some physical therapy as he looks to get back healthy before the season. The Titans need him more than people may know, and, in a make-or-break season for Latham’s future, the Titans will have to decide on his fifth-year option with the franchise.
If he can get back healthy, he has the chance to be one of the better offensive line pieces when it comes to protecting Cam Ward. The last thing the Titans need is for their quarterback to be taking sacks the same way that he did last season, and in order to stop that, they will need their best players available.
