During this afternoon’s broadcast of Race Day Live, Team USA’s third member was announced. Team Manager Mike Pelletier appeared on the show to confirm that Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Julien Beaumer will fill the MXGP class slot vacated by Chance Hymas after his wrist injury. Beaumer’s addition to the teams comes after an overall win at the SMX Playoff 2 event in Carson, California and a second place finish in the 250MX standings.

He will join Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Levi Kitchen (MX2) and Cooper Webb (Open) on Team USA. Last year, the American squad of Eli Tomac, Justin Cooper and RJ Hampshire finished second overall at Ironman Raceway.

Just before the news was announced, Beaumer set the fastest qualifying time for the SMX World Championship Final in the 250 class. Team USA will travel overseas in the next few days, with the MXDN taking place in Ernee, France from October 2nd-4th.
