Former NBA player Kyle Singler was arrested in Oklahoma in October 2025 after a woman accused him of assaulting her at an Airbnb while their child was present. The incident happened in town, where Singler was reportedly staying with her family, when a witness called 911 after seeing Singler chasing a woman outside the residence.

The call had deputies quickly arrive at the scene, and Singler was arrested two days after the incident was reported and later faced a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery in the presence of a child.
According to a probable cause affidavit reported at the time, Singler’s girlfriend told a deputy that he grabbed her by the head before shoving her to the ground. Arresting officer Mitch Dobbs also shared that he saw marks on her face and arm that appeared to be hand marks.
The Athletic noted that Singler did not cooperate with the authorities and appeared to be under the influence of narcotics. Thereafter, he was booked into the Haskell County jail before being released on a $6,000 bond. His misdemeanor count carried a possible sentence of six months to one year in county jail and a fine of up to $5,000 if convicted.
Nearly a year later, Singler’s name has resurfaced in headlines after his disturbing videos went viral on social media.
Singler sends unsettling messages on Instagram
The former NBA forward is surely dealing with a situation after recently sharing a series of troubling videos on Instagram, in which he made several concerning claims about his safety, living situation, and past connection with Duke and former head coach Mike Krzyzewski, under whom he played from 2007 to 2011.
The 38-year-old posted multiple videos in which he appeared utterly distressed while speaking about people allegedly trying to take his life. He went on to claim that people were breaking into his home, taking money from his accounts, and monitoring his movements daily.
“I’m stuck at my house, and I can’t leave,” Singler said Tuesday night, while circling in what appeared to be the same room. “I feel imprisoned. Where we at? Leaving people stranded. I’ve tried to share messages about where we’re at and back home – I’ve got people, my friends, family, devastated and gone, died.

“Again, my life’s on the line. I got people breaking into my house, jacking money, breaking into my accounts. And you know what? Duke’s all about it. I got Duke begging for my money. Everybody’s after my money, tryna kill me. What’s going on? What’s the deal? Seems like people got a lot of anger and a lot of violence and a lot of retribution on their mind. Coach, you got a former player being mistreated and abused, and you ain’t doing nothing, man. Help out,” he added.
The former Duke star spent his seven seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Detroit Pistons, who drafted him 33rd overall in the 2011 NBA Draft. He earned more than $22 million in salary, most of it from the contract extension he got in Oklahoma City.
The former NBA forward reached out to Coach K for help
In one of his recently posted videos, Singler suggested life in Oklahoma has become very difficult and that he had repeatedly tried to get some help from his former coach, Krzyzewski.
He addressed Coach K directly, saying he tried to contact him, but felt dismissed, alleging that the former coach knew what was happening in his life but did not offer any support.
“Man, Coach K has set me up,” Singler said, while claiming that he had been left without basic necessities. “Set me up, man. I have no power. I have no house. I’ve reached out to coach and everybody has turned the other way. I’ve reached out to Coach and he has fully dismissed the message. You guys are cutting my power off, breaking into my house, stealing money, ruining my life. I reached out to Coach K and all he did was sit me on the bench.”
The message has left many fans concerned about his mental well-being. Singler was one of the key pieces on the 2010 national championship team and was named the NCAA Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player. Under Coach K, Singler played in two Final Fours and finished his college career as one of the program’s best players.
Hopefully, with a little bit of help, he can get back on track.
