Residents affected by the Miners Fire mandatory evacuation order on Sunday afternoon were allowed to return when the El Dorado Sheriff’s Office lifted the order after a few hours.

The evacuation order had been issues around 3 p.m. for Pilot Hill Perimeter Zone between Miners Valley Road and Equestrian. At that time the fire had about 5% containment.
As of 4:33 p.m., the fire had burned about 92.2 acres with 15% containment as of 4:33 p.m., according to Cal Fire. The evacuation order was lifted about a half hour later.

When the order was enstated, residents in the evacuation area were urged to leave using Salmon Falls Road, traveling either south toward El Dorado Hills or north toward Cool. An evacuation center had been established at the Placerville Library, 345 Fair Lane in Placerville.
