Highway Patrol officers found the body just after 10:30 p.m. on Folsom Boulevard at LaQuinta Drive after responding to a call reporting a body on the roadway, said the CHP’s East Sacramento area office. But officers found no sign that a vehicle was involved. The minor had visible injuries, though none that indicated being struck by a vehicle, said the CHP.

Officers took measurements at the scene as if it may have been a hit-and-run, but the CHP said it will not be investigated yet as such until Sacramento County Coroner’s Office completes an autopsy and releases its findings.
