With the 2026 midterm elections approaching next month, we’re seeing more and more political commercials during games. Politicians know that millions of people are going to be watching each and every Saturday and Sunday. They’re capitalizing on their audience, that’s for sure.
But some want the political ads to be “banned” during games.
“If we could do away with any and all political ads during college football Saturdays and NFL Sundays that would be outstanding. Left, Right, Center…I don’t care get them off my TV. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk,” he shared.
Football fans seem to agree.
“I would pay to have specifically remove political ads,” one fan wrote.
“Todd is bringing the country together,” one fan added.
“Agreed we need more drug commercials for stuff that I have no idea what it’s for and that I should stop taking if I am allergic to it,” one fan added.
Political ads aren’t the only kind of commercials that fans would like to be banned from games, though. Other fans are speaking out against gambling ads, too. We certainly get plenty of those.

Fans push back with gambling ads criticism, too
NFL and college football fans are pushing back on the gambling ads that take up a ton of airtime, too.
“But you are ok with gambling ads? Erection pill ads? Big pharma ads? They all stink,” one fan wrote.
“Fair point, yet gambling ones are even worse. 🤬,” one fan added.
Ultimately, there’s likely too much money being spread around for these ads to stop, but fans have made it clear where they stand one month into the 2026 football season.
