Texas entered Sunday with a 53-51 record, leading the AL West by two games over the Houston Astros and 2.5 games over the Seattle Mariners after winning the first two games of the series.

According to Kennedi Landry of MLB.com, Langford said he is doing well and confirmed he will start Sunday’s game. The 24-year-old avoided a significant injury after postgame X-rays revealed no fracture following Saturday night’s exit.
The update keeps one of Texas’ most productive bats in the lineup during a crucial divisional matchup. Langford has battled multiple injuries this season but has continued to produce whenever healthy.

In 52 games this season, Langford is batting .290 with a .335 on-base percentage and .533 slugging percentage while collecting 12 home runs, 11 doubles and 29 RBIs. He was coming off one of his best performances of the year Saturday, finishing 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI before leaving the game.
Langford has missed significant time earlier this season because of quadriceps, forearm and hamstring injuries, making Sunday’s update especially encouraging for the Rangers. His return also allows Texas to avoid another lineup adjustment during a critical stretch of the season.
