Fixins Soul Kitchen at 3428 3rd Ave. in Oak Park was ranked No. 32 in the nation, according to Yelp’s national list.
The site said the restaurant is “perfect for kicking back with soul food favorites” and is “all about family recipes, Black culture, and a lively community vibe.”
Other California entries in the Top 10 included Cesarina in San Diego at No. 1, along with restaurants in Santa Barbara, St. Helena, Ventura and Palm Springs.

“Whether you’re craving a lively patio scene, a secret garden escape, a rooftop happy hour, or a cozy terrace for you and your pup, these expert picks promise delicious food and unforgettable vibes,” Yelp said.
Listings were based on “the volume and ratings of reviews given by Yelp Elite Squad members for each business,” Yelp said.
