The Sacramento Kings have announced a number of additions to their basketball operations staff while promoting other members of the organization.

Brendan Suhr, who has more than four decades of coaching experience in the NBA and collegiate ranks, is joining the Kings as an assistant coach. Surh was a part of the coaching staff that led the Detroit Pistons to back-to-back NBA championships in 1989 and 1990. He has also held assistant coaching positions with the Atlanta Hawks, New Jersey Nets, Toronto Raptors, Orlando Magic and New York Knicks.
At the collegiate level, Suhr has coached at Detroit Mercy, Fairfield, UCF, LSU and Stetson. He was also a member of the coaching staff for the gold medal-winning 1992 U.S. men’s Olympic team, better known as the “Dream Team.”
DJ Ham has been promoted to assistant coach after one season as Sacramento’s head of player development. He previously served as a video assistant/player development coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers (2024-25) and assistant coach/director of player development for the G League Cleveland Charge.
Joe Ajike is joining the Kings’ coaching staff as head of player development. Ajike spent the 2025-26 season as head of player development for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the G League affiliate of the Houston Rockets. Ajike previously spent four seasons with the Washington Wizards, most recently as player development manager from 2023-25.

Jason Maxiell has been promoted to player development coach as he enters his second season with the Kings. He was an assistant coach with the G League Stockton Kings in 2025-26. Maxiell played in the NBA from 2005-15 with the Pistons, Magic and Charlotte Hornets.
Wyatt Lohaus is joining the Kings as an assistant video coordinator after spending the 2025-26 season as a fellow with the Mississippi State men’s basketball program. He previously served as a coach at the 212 Basketball Academy in Iowa during the 2024-25 season after playing professional basketball overseas for two seasons.
Drake LaMont is coming to Sacramento as an assistant video coordinator. He previously spent two seasons with the Wizards as a coaching associate/assistant video coordinator. He also worked with the Dallas Mavericks as a player development intern.
The Kings also announced the promotions of Daniel Hixon (manager of scouting), Julius Lewis (assistant director of team security) and Nicolas Liagridonis (basketball data scientist/G League personnel coordinator). In addition, the Kings have hired Kathy Evans (director of basketball data science), Imhotep “Tap” George (coaching associate) and Brandon Lewis (senior basketball software engineer).
