SAN JOSE – Ivar Stenberg had a hat trick and Mason Marchment and Igor Chernyshov each scored twice as the San Jose Sharks routed the Anaheim Ducks 10-0 on Thursday in their penultimate preseason game.

Michael Misa and Stenberg each finished with four points, and goalie Alex Nedeljkovic earned the shutout with 21 saves as the Sharks picked up their first win in three preseason games.
Brett Leason and Filip Bystedt also scored, with Leason’s power-play goal at the 7:54 mark of the third period giving the Sharks an 8-0 lead. Stenberg scored his third goal with 3:03 left in regulation time, and with fans chanting, “We want 10,” Bystedt scored with 2:37 to go for a 10-goal lead
The Sharks announced earlier this week that they would use a new goal song for the 2026-27 regular season, and that their song from last season, the electronically generated “Power Bite,” would be retired.
But “Power Bite” got some last-minute use, especially early on, with Chernyshov scoring twice and Marchment, Stenberg and Misa each adding one goal in a span of 11:50 in the first period.
While the Sharks dressed 14 or 15 players who will be on the team’s 23-man roster to begin the regular season, the Ducks brought a team made up mainly of AHL players, leading to the lopsided result.

San Jose wraps up its exhibition schedule on Saturday in Las Vegas against the Golden Knights, then faces the Florida Panthers on Oct. 1 at home to open the regular season.
Thursday’s game marked the first of the preseason for a handful of Sharks players, including forwards Macklin Celebrini, Will Smith and Marchment, and defensemen Darnell Nurse and Michael Kesselring.
Playing fewer minutes than usual on Thursday, Smith and Celebrini each collected one assist, which came on Marchment’s second goal at the 12:57 mark of the second period that gave the Sharks a 7-0 lead.
Chernyshov skated on the Sharks’ fourth line with fellow winger Jimmy Huntington and center Bystedt.
