You can add former ESPN and Fox Sports personality Skip Bayless to the list of people getting tired of the WNBA. Though in his case, he’s become downright “disgusted” by the league.

In a 34-minute video posted on Monday morning, Bayless said that with all of the controversies that occur regularly, he’s finding it “harder and harder to love or even like” the WNBA. He lamented that things have gotten so polarizing that his opinion is likely to be written off by black and LGBTQ+ players as him being “probably a Trump lover.”
“I’m getting sick and tired of the WNBA. I’m getting disgusted by the WNBA to the point where I find it harder and harder to love or even like, definitely watch, the WNBA; at a time when that’s when its popularity should be skyrocketing,” Bayless said. ”I’m sure all of my opinions will be dismissed by black WNBA players, queer WNBA players as, ‘Ah, a white guy, probably a Trump lover.'”
Bayless feels that the WNBA has turned into a battlefield for racial politics, culture-war nonsense and sexual identity, which bring down the league at a time where it should be enjoying the record-setting popularity.
“This is what has happened to the WNBA; it has turned into a race war, it has turned into a culture war,” Bayless lamented. ”It has turned into a sexual identity war.”

Bayless has plenty of people who love proving him wrong, but plenty who applauded him for his take here:

“Skip not biggest fan of you but what a great job explaining the situation, I’ll give that to you man!” one user replied.
“Imagine being a young girl whose only dream is to play basketball. You dedicate your entire life to countless hours of practice, sacrifice, hard work, and determination. You finally achieve your dream and make it to the WNBA, only to watch the sport you love become a joke,” wrote another.
“I rarely agree with skip but this is one of those times where a broken clock is right unless he says something stupid in the last 10 minutes that I haven’t seen yet,” a third wrote.
Of course, the ratings suggest that the outrage and refusal to watch the WNBA is limited to social media discourse.
