A small jet overran a runway at Auburn Municipal Airport on Tuesday, but no one aboard was injured, airport officials said.

The twin-engine jet overran the south end of the runway just before 10:30 a.m., airport officials said in a statement. Emergency crews arrived to find the aircraft about 150 feet beyond the end of the runway. Those aboard were able to get out of the aircraft on their own, airport manager Tyghe Richardson said.
Auburn Fire Department crews and airport officials confirmed no injuries in the incident at the airport, 13666 New Airport Road in Auburn.
Airport officials were investigating the incident, but the cause of the runway overrun remained unknown late Tuesday.

Richardson remained at the scene to coordinate next steps with the Auburn Police Department, Auburn Fire Department, National Transportation Safety Board and the aircraft’s owner, Auburn Economic Development Director Jonathan Wright said in a statement.
The runway remained closed while authorities evaluated the airplane and determined how to recover and remove it from the airfield, Wright said.
