Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Jalen Ramsey revealed he played through a broken right wrist during Sunday’s 30-27 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, and his status for Thursday night’s matchup with the Cleveland Browns remains uncertain.

Ramsey suffered the fracture on Pittsburgh’s first defensive series but stayed on the field for every defensive snap. He finished the AFC North victory with eight tackles, including four solo stops.
Now, the 11-year veteran has a quick turnaround to determine whether he can protect the injured wrist well enough to play again.

Ramsey said his availability will depend largely on whether he can wear a cast that provides enough protection without preventing him from doing his job. He indicated that he would try to play if the circumstances allow it.
The timing creates another challenge for a Pittsburgh secondary already dealing with injuries. Ramsey has been an important piece of the defense since arriving in Pittsburgh and has started all three games this season.

Through three games, he has recorded 17 tackles, one pass defended and one forced fumble. His eight tackles against Cincinnati were also a season high.
The Steelers have little time to figure things out. Pittsburgh travels to Cleveland for Thursday Night Football with both teams entering the matchup at 2-1.
If Ramsey cannot play, the Steelers could need additional snaps from their remaining defensive backs. Brandin Echols is also dealing with a concussion, while DeShon Elliott remains on injured reserve.
For now, Ramsey’s availability will likely come down to how well he can protect the wrist while still playing effectively. With the Browns game arriving on a short week, his practice participation and final injury designation should provide the clearest indication of whether he will suit up.
