Five people were stabbed Wednesday evening at Thunder Valley Casino Resort near Lincoln, with one victim taken to a hospital, authorities said.

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible stabbing about 7 p.m. at Dos Coyotes Border Cafe inside the casino. Deputies arrived within minutes and took a suspect, described as a man in his 20s, into custody.
One of the five victims was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, according to spokesperson Elise Soviar. The other four were treated at the scene by Thunder Valley Casino EMTs and Cal Fire, she said; their injuries also were not life-threatening.

Investigators believed the suspect knew all five victims, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Authorities said no additional suspects were being sought and there was no threat to the public.
Sheriff’s detectives remained at the casino Wednesday night and were investigating the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.
