Terry Bradshaw was letting it fly on Sunday.
The former NFL quarterback, who won four Super Bowls in Pittsburgh, called for the immediate benching of New England Patriots star Drake Maye. The third-year NFL quarterback has been struggling, as the Patriots are off to a 1-2 start and he’s leading the league in interceptions (6).

Bradshaw, 78, believes that the Patriots should bench Maye and let him figure some things out on the sideline.
“Sometimes, you get into such a rut you lose your confidence, which is what’s happened,” Bradshaw said.
“Sometimes, you have to bench him. You just sit him down. Doesn’t mean he’s not your No. 1.”
Bradshaw, though, got immediately shut down by his coworker, Michael Strahan, live on the air on FOX.
“That’s hard, though this guy is an MVP candidate last year, went to the Super Bowl, all that stuff. Very hard to bench him at this point,” Strahan said.
NFL fans agree – you can’t bench Maye right now.
“You can’t do that, man. He had such a good year last year. Let him play through it,” one fan wrote.
“He needs to learn on the fly,” one fan added.
“You can’t bench him,” one fan added.
Some Patriots fans, though, think he needs an ‘intervention’
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy believes that his quarterback needs an “intervention” right now.
“Drake Maye needs an intervention at half time. You can’t win in the NFL when your Qb is playing like he is right now. Missing wide open guys for easy Td’s, dropping the ball, throwing horrible Int’s. Im holding my breath everytime he throws the ball. But you gotta keep slinging it. He didnt become the worst Qb in the NFL overnight. Just keep slinging and work out of this slump,” Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.
It’s a long season, and right now, the Patriots need to let Maye work through some issues.
