Rancho Cordova is implementing new traffic-calming measures on some residential streets.

Construction is underway on Borderlands Drive and Canyonlands Drive in Rancho Cordova’s Sunridge Park neighborhood, according to a release from the city.
Traffic-calming measures include speed lumps, new bicycle lanes, high-visibility crosswalks, curb extensions and curb islands, according to the city’s website. The city will also resurface Borderlands Drive and Canyonlands Drive during the project.

Construction will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, according to the city’s website. Parking may be restricted in construction areas, and the city urged residents to travel with caution and allow extra driving time.

The project is expected to be completed in December, according to the city’s website.
The city will begin construction in October on similar traffic-calming measures on White Rock Road between Mather Field Road and Mills Park Drive, according to the city.
