Portugal could qualify for the UEFA Nations League quarterfinals if they win today at home against Norway. The two teams met in matchday 2 at Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo, Norway; Portugal won 2-1 away.
That game marked the last time Cristiano Ronaldo was in the Portugal squad. Ronaldo missed the previous game against Denmark after a falling-out with Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus.
In the UEFA Nations League this season, Ronaldo only played in matchday 1 against Wales and is not in the Portugal squad today, as he is firm on his decision to leave the national team for this camp.
However, L’Équipe reports that Ronaldo could return to the national team next year for a potential farewell match.

Cristiano Ronaldo was reportedly in Madrid, Spain, following his departure from the Portugal national team. During his fallout with head coach Jorge Jesus, Ronaldo was in Denmark, as the national team was playing Denmark away from home.
A Bola reports that Ronaldo will leave Madrid to travel to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, during Portugal vs. Norway today.
Ronaldo is set to report to Al Nassr ahead of club football returning this weekend. Al Nassr’s first game back from the international break is on Friday against Al Diriyah in the Saudi Pro League.
