Two Rancho Cordova schools are undergoing multimillion-dollar modernization projects that will add classrooms, administration buildings and security upgrades.

Cordova High School at 2239 Chase Drive and Cordova Villa Elementary School at 10359 S. White Rock Road will get new classrooms and administration buildings, along with upgraded safety and security fencing.
A new 45,000-square-foot, two-story building at will house the school’s administration and counseling departments, as well as a new library, mental health support, college and career services, community resources and additional classrooms and learning spaces, according to the Folsom Cordova Unified School District.
Construction also includes a new entry plaza, improved fencing and gates and replacement classroom windows.
Interim classrooms were constructed over the summer after a classroom wing was demolished, according to the district. The existing administration building will also be demolished.

The $44 million project is being funded by Measure S, a bond approved by voters in 2024 to improve Rancho Cordova middle and high schools. It is expected to be completed in 2027, according to the district.
At , construction includes demolishing the existing administration building and a classroom building. Plans call for a new classroom wing, administration building, entry plaza and playground, along with improved fencing, paving and landscaping, according to the district.
Cost for the work was estimated at $40 million, according to architectural firm Studio W.
The project is funded through Measure R, another bond approved by voters in 2024 to improve Rancho Cordova elementary schools, and is expected to be completed by 2028, according to the district.
