4 wounded in shooting at Granite Regional Park, Sacramento police say

Three women and a man were wounded in a shooting early Sunday at Granite Regional Park in eastern Sacramento.

Officers responded just after 12:30 a.m. to reports of a shooting near Cucamonga and Ramona avenues inside the 64-acre park, Sacramento Police Department spokesperson Officer Allison Smith said.

Officers found three adult women with gunshot wounds. Two were taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, while the third was treated at the scene for minor injuries, Smith said.

Shortly afterward, officers responded to a related vehicle collision near Folsom Boulevard and State University Drive, where they found an adult man with at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, Smith said.

Police had not determined whether the shooting was connected to reports of gunfire hours earlier at nearby Sacramento State.

“It’s has not been determined if there is a connection,” Smith said Sunday morning.

Sacramento State police responded about 7:15 p.m. Saturday to reports of shots fired at Parking Structure 3, across Stadium Drive from Hornet Stadium. No injuries were reported.
