Brock Purdy didn’t just help the San Francisco 49ers get a 27-7 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday, he earned a ton of praise from the NFL community.

While some players looked rusty in the NFL’s first-ever game in Australia, it was evident that Purdy was up for the challenge. The former Mr. Irrelevant completed 25 of 34 pass attempts for 205 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. He also had 29 rushing yards on five carries.
Following the 49ers’ win over the Rams, Netflix’s camera crew showed Purdy praying at midfield with a few teammates and opponents. That brief gesture received a lot of love on social media.
“This was touching & beautiful to see,” a Rams fan wrote on X. “LOVE is always the answer. Even in sports. And God is LOVE. We should all inspire each other like this through faith, prayer & hope. Thank you & God bless you Brock Purdy.”

“I love this. We need more of this. Good on them,” one fan added.
“Rivalries on the field but together we have faith in God, love to see it,” another fan commented.
“Love this from Purdy,” a social media user wrote.
Brock Purdy has been adamant about his faith.
Prior to the NFC Championship Game in 2023, Purdy impressed people with his mindset on being a pro athlete.
“It’s a game and it’s my job, for sure, and I take it very seriously, but at the end of the day, I know that I’m not defined by the wins or losses as a person, like, that’s not who I am. I’m not just a quarterback. I wasn’t born to just to be a quarterback and play football, and that’s it. Like, I have a life and everything like that,” Purdy said “And I remember that, but at the same time, man, I’m a competitor. I love to compete. I want to win at all costs and so, I’ve been enjoying that as well, so that’s where I’m at. That’s how I stay grounded with it all, but I’m definitely thankful and blessed to be here.”

Clearly, Purdy’s faith hasn’t wavered over the past few seasons.
