About 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a report of a suspicious death at a local hospital. The woman was brought to the hospital by family members and was unresponsive. After she was pronounced dead, medical staff conducted a preliminary examination that indicated her death may not have been from natural causes, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to the hospital and to the woman’s residence, where she lived with her family. Investigators continued interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence Friday morning.
