Whether you love him or loathe him, Colin Cowherd has had front row seats to the story of the NFL for more than half of his adult life. He reflected on that a little bit this week.

Taking to X, Cowherd shared an old photo of himself doing his weekend sports anchor work for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 32 years ago. Though in typical Cowherd fashion, he linked it to Tom Brady as well.
“32 years ago in Tampa. Tom Brady would enter the NFL 7 years later,” Cowherd wrote.
Jealous Much?
Most fans’ earliest memories of Cowherd are either of him on SportsNation in the early-2000s or on the radio (where they can’t see him). So to get this look at Cowherd from the mid-1990s, some were admittedly impressed with how he’s managed to keep his hair through his 30s and into his early 60s.

“How is it that you have more hair now? I’m jealous,” one fan wrote.
“Please help me with hair restoration Colin, what did you do?” wrote another.
“And you’ve aged as gracefully as Tom Brady, Colin,” a third admitted.
But while Cowherd spent the first decade of his career in sports as an anchor, he truly built his career around his opinion-driven analysis and provocative commentary.
After beginning in local radio, he gained national prominence at ESPN, where he hosted the popular weekday radio show The Herd and was a regular on SportsNation and other network programs. Known for blending sports analysis with broader discussions of leadership, culture, and business, Cowherd developed a reputation for strong opinions that frequently sparked debate.
In 2015, he left ESPN to join Fox Sports, where The Herd with Colin Cowherd became a cornerstone of FS1’s daytime lineup while continuing as a nationally syndicated radio program. Cowherd has also played a key role in Fox’s NFL and college football coverage and helped launch The Volume, a digital sports media network featuring podcasts and original content.
