Angel Reese Announces Personal News After Wings Game

Angel Reese wasted little time making an impact after the WNBA All-Star break. Fresh off her third career All-Star appearance, the Atlanta Dream forward helped her team secure a hard-fought 82-81 win over Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings. Reese finished with 22 points, 12 rebounds and four assists while shooting 50% from the field.

The win lifted Atlanta to 17-10, the sixth-best record in the WNBA. Reese’s performance also marked her 18th double-double of the season, leaving her just one behind Dallas’ Jessica Shepard (19) for the league lead.

The 24-year-old continues to lead the way on the court in her first season with Atlanta, but she had even more reason to celebrate off it.

On Thursday, Reese announced she has been featured on the cover of Cosmopolitan, where she sat down for an interview with the publication:

“Thank you @cosmopolitan for allowing me to express this full circle moment! From playing with Barbie dolls as a little girl to having my own-wearing my signature Reebok shoes. Getting to put that doll in little girls’ hands All-Star weekend, share that moment with the Boys & Girls Club and watch their faces light up, that’s the dream. I can’t wait to see all of you with your Angel Barbie Dolls”

The announcement comes less than a week after Mattel unveiled Reese’s signature Barbie doll, making her just the second WNBA player, after Sue Bird, to receive the honor. The doll features Reese’s signature style, including her Barbie-themed Reebok Angel Reese 1 sneakers, which will be released publicly on Aug. 3. The collaboration adds to Reese’s growing portfolio of endorsements and business ventures, which already includes her long-term partnership with Reebok and work through the Angel C. Reese Foundation.

Reese and the Dream will return home to continue their playoff push when they host the Seattle Storm on Friday.
