The New York Jets have been in joint practice with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers today but things got very scary when one of the Jets’ corners collapsed.

According to ESPN reporter Rich Cimini, Jets head coach Aaron Glenn confirmed that cornerback Qwan’tez Stiggers collapsed on the sideline and had to be taken to the hospital via ambulance. Fortunately, he was conscious and able to talk after getting there.
“Qwan’tez Stiggers was the player, Glenn confirms. Collapsed on the sideline and taken by ambulance. #Jets,” Cimini reported. “He ‘passed out’ on the sideline, per Glenn, and was taken to the hospital. Stiggers was conscious and talking, Glenn says.”
Prayers for Stiggers
It was a very scary moment on the field as Jets players reportedly gathered around Stiggers. He was initially stretchered off and had to get an IV.
Fans took to social media to offer their thoughts and prayers to him as he recovers:
“Hoping he is ok. Fingers crossed it was just dehydration or from the heat,” one user on X wrote.

“Hopefully, it’s just an illness or dehydration, and he recovers quickly!” wrote another.
“Prayers up for Tez. Hope he’s okay,” a third wrote.
Stiggers was a fifth-round pick by the Jets in the 2024 NFL Draft following a standout season in the CFL. Prior to that, he had played for the short-lived Fan Controlled Football League and never went to college.
Over his first two years in the NFL he has mostly contributed on special teams, but started getting more reps on defense last year, making four starts at cornerback.
He has 35 tackles, one tackle for loss, two fumble recoveries and three passes defended in two years with the team.
The practice reportedly featured multiple fights between the two teams, who are scheduled to face off at MetLife Stadium this Friday.
