As the Buffalo Bills begin the 2026 season in their new stadium, there have been plenty of celebrations and events to welcome it to the NFL family. Among the many who attended its opening was a face fans haven’t seen much of in recent years: Bills co-owner Kim Pegula.

According to Ryan Miller of the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle, her appearance at the stadium for the Return of the Blue & Red practice event on Saturday marked her first public appearance in over two years.
“Pegula walked onto the field with her husband, Bills owner Terry Pegula, and their son Matthew after the Return of the Blue & Red practice. Terry held Kim’s hand as they walked across the field before the family stopped near midfield to pose for photos,” Miller wrote.
“Kim stood on her own for the pictures as Terry pointed out features of the new stadium.”
Pegula suffered a cardiac arrest incident in 2022 and reportedly suffered a brain injury from the lack of oxygen. As a result, the only appearances she’s really made in recent years are an appearance at training camp practices in 2023 and 2024.
At the ribbon-cutting in June, Pegula’s husband, Terry Pegula, had an emotional moment in talking about her contributions to the stadium project.
“Kim, I wish you could have finished this project with the same passion and hard work that you started with,” Terry said at the time.
The Pegulas
Terry and Kim Pegula bought the Bills from the estate of founder and former owner Ralph Wilson in 2014, reportedly paying around $1.4 billion for the team at the time. In the decade-plus since the pair took over, the team ended years and years of disappointing Sunday results and now rank among one of the best teams in the league.
Under their leadership, the Bills have had only two losing seasons and are currently coming off their seventh straight playoff appearance – the longest stretch in franchise history.
