Ryan Marietti died after a single-vehicle crash early Friday morning on Highway 50 near the community of Strawberry, the Sheriff’s Office said Saturday in a social media post.
Marietti began his career with the Sheriff’s Office in December 2024, the Sheriff’s Office posted on social media. He served both at the Placerville and South Lake Tahoe jails.

Marietti was also an alumnus of Ponderosa High School, graduating in 2023, the Sheriff’s Office said.
