The Yuba County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday detained and arrested a 21-year-old man for allegedly impersonating a peace officer on the Yuba College campus in Marysville.

Upon arrival at the college Thursday afternoon, the suspect identified himself as a peace officer with a California police department, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release on social media. The suspect was carrying an imitation Glock-style pellet gun.
The suspect was booked into jail on charges including impersonating a peace officer, bringing a prohibited projectile device onto a college campus and openly displaying an imitation firearm in a public place.

The case will be forwarded to the Yuba County District Attorney’s Office for review and prosecution, sheriff’s officials said.
