Sophie Cunningham News Emerges After Career Announcement

Sophie Cunningham has been one of the best bench players in the WNBA this season. After starting in the first three games of the campaign, Cunningham was moved to the second unit to provide a spark off the bench, and it has worked well for her and the Indiana Fever.

Cunningham is averaging 8.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. She’s shooting career-high percentages of 46.9% from the field and 43.4% from deep, with her 3-point shooting the second-best mark in the WNBA as well.

The 30-year-old guard is the fourth-best scorer on the Fever behind the Big 3 of Kelsey Mitchell, Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston.

While Cunningham is focused on helping the Fever, it hasn’t stopped her from making moves off the court. In fact, she recently announced that she has rebranded her podcast and brought in a new co-host.

Previously called “Show Me Something,” Cunningham’s new podcast is titled “No Hesitation.” The first episode of the podcast dropped on Thursday, featuring the Fever guard and her new co-host, renowned basketball trainer Drew Hanlen.

More information about Cunningham’s podcast rebranding has emerged ever since, including details about the departure of her former co-host and high school friend West Wilson.

According to Front Office Sports, the decision to rebrand the podcast has been planned for “months” now, with the goal of turning the show into a more basketball-focused podcast.

“Sophie Cunningham has parted ways with her podcast cohost, high school best friend West Wilson, in favor of a new show on The Volume with trainer Drew Hanlen,” FOS reported. “A source told FOS the change had been planned ‘for months,’ with a desire for a more basketball-focused show.”

For what it’s worth, Cunningham’s podcast went on a three-month hiatus before its recent return. During that time, both Cunningham and Wilson were involved in separate controversies. It’s unknown if those issues were relevant to the decision about Wilson’s exit and the rebranding of the podcast.
