Sizzler restaurants are known for their steaks, salad bars and cheese toast. For the month of September, two Sacramento outlets of the chain will donate the proceeds from cheese-toast sandwich sales to local charities.

Sizzler, founded in Culver City in 1958, once had hundreds of locations across the country. Today, they number less than a hundred, but two Sacramento locations of the restaurant remain: one at 2901 Advantage Way, and another at 5815 Madison Avenue.
The chain has recently introduced two sandwiches made with cheese toast, a Cheese Toast Malibu Melt and a Cheese Toast Patty Melt, both at $13.99. As part of promotions for “Cheese Toast Month,” Sizzlers across the country are donating all proceeds from sales of the two sandwiches to charity.
At the Advantage Way Sizzler, sandwich sales will benefit Kids Helping Kids Sacramento, a student-run non-profit where high schoolers raise money for children facing pediatric cancer and poverty around the world.

At the Madison Avenue Sizzler, the funds raised will go to Norcal Resist, an organization that advocates for immigrants, refugees, and asylum-seekers.
The two Sizzlers also participated in the Cheese Toast Month fundraising drive in 2025, with funds going to the Inderkum High School Youth Work Force and the Boys and Girls Club.
