Matthew McConaughey is a big-time tennis fan.
The Texas native attended the U.S. Open men’s semifinals in Flushing Meadows, New York on Friday afternoon. McConaughey was at the match with his good friend and acting buddy Woody Harrelson. The two famously starred in “True Detective” on HBO and have a new show, “Brothers,” coming out on Apple TV.
But while McConaughey is known for his swag and aura, some fans took issue with his behavior at the U.S. Open matches on Friday.

Tennis fans take issue with McConaughey’s behavior
Tennis fans are accusing McConaughey of intentionally doing things that he knows he would go viral for.
“His whole life is a performance. He’s good at it,” one fan wrote.
“This is painful and cringe to watch just be a person man,” one fan added.
“This is not aura. Do not act like this. This is performative and weird,” one fan added.
Others, meanwhile, are praising him.
“He’s the type of person you can’t take your eyes off. We’ve all worked with, or been in social gatherings with someone like this, and they draw people in. They have this natural effortless presence that’s impossible to describe,” one fan added.
Ultimately, McConaughey knows how to go viral, and he did just that at the U.S. Open on Friday afternoon.
The U.S. Open wrapped up on Sunday, with No. 1 seed Alexander Zverev taking down No. 8 seed Ben Shelton, who was hoping to become the first American male to win a Grand Slam since Andy Roddick did it in Queens in 2003.
McConaughey will now turn his attention to football and the Texas Longhorns, who are 2-0 after a big win against Ohio State.
