Of course, Boston shocked the NBA world to begin the offseason as they traded Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers for Paul George and draft capital, officially breaking up the star duo he formed with Jayson Tatum.
After trading Brown, the Celtics then signed Mitchell Robinson and Mike Conley in free agency and re-signed Neemias Queta.
For Porter Jr., he could fit in well in Boston’s system due to head coach Joe Mazzulla’s emphasis on outside shooting, which has been a strong area for the veteran forward during his NBA career, along with his championship experience from his time with the Denver Nuggets.
Porter Jr. also provides the Celtics with a reliable rebounder and improved defender who is coming off arguably the best season of his career as he averaged a career-high 24.2 points and 3.0 assists per game.

Boston would also add Mann in this trade, who could play a key role for them in the backcourt off the bench.
While this trade could work out well for the Celtics, they may elect to hold off on Porter Jr. due to his injury history as he has played more than 75 games just twice during his eight-year NBA career.
The Nets may also be unwilling to take back George in a potential deal as they could instead seek young talent and draft capital in a trade involving Porter Jr.
