RHP Aaron Nola goes for the Phils at 6-10 with a 4.69 ERA. After a rough first few months of the season, he has been really good with a 2.01 ERA over his last five starts. His first-inning ERA is a respectable 3.60. The Mets roll with RHP Nolan McLean at 11-9 with a 3.24 ERA. He has a 3.41 ERA with 31 K’s in 29 IP in the first inning.
Kansas City Royals at Houston Astros YRFI (-130)
RHP Seth Lugo goes for the Royals at 7-8 with a 4.99 ERA. Fans need to be in their seats early because his first-inning ERA is at 6.90. The Astros have not confirmed a starter, but RHP Ethan Pecko is expected to get the ball for his fifth start. He’s 1-0 with a 4.30 ERA in 23 innings. When it comes to the first, he has a 4.50 ERA and two homers allowed in four frames.
What Do NRFI and YRFI Mean in Baseball?
The term NRFI indicates no runs scored in the first inning. Its opposite, YRFI, indicates yes, there will be a run in the first inning. It doesn’t matter if the run qualifies as an earned run or not. If a run crosses the plate in the first inning for either team, the wager loses for the NRFI side and wins for the YRFI side.
