Overnight construction is expected to cause delays on Interstate 5 between Sacramento and Yolo counties this week.

Crews will remove and replace pavement on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge, which carries I-5 over the Sacramento River west of Sacramento International Airport. The bridge just east of the Yolo Causeway will be reduced to one lane during the roadwork, Caltrans District 3 said in a news release.
Work will begin on northbound freeway lanes and will take place between 7:30 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. through Thursday and between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Crews will later switch to southbound I-5.

The speed limit in the work zone will be reduced to 55 mph. Drivers should expect delays and allow extra travel time, Caltrans said.
