A coffee shop known for its late-night hours and specialty whipped coffee drinks has opened in Elk Grove.

The coffee chain, Haute Coffee, opened at 8145 Elk Grove Blvd. in early August. The founder, who originally hails from the Sacramento area, launched Haute Coffee in 2022, operating out of a coffee truck in South Florida.
This will be Haute Coffee’s second Sacramento-area location. Its other regional location is in Roseville, and there are three cafes in Florida.
Haute Coffee stands out among other Sacramento-area coffee shops because of its unique drinks, said owner Saada Najjar. The coffee house serves dalgona coffee, a whipped coffee drink inspired by the South Korean honeycomb toffee candy of the same name. The drink, which gained traction on TikTok in 2020, is made from instant coffee powder, sugar, caramel and hot water whipped into a foam that’s served over cold or warm milk.
Haute Coffee also sells ceremonial grade matcha, hojicha, artisan coffees, and seasonal drinks, including a pumpkin cinnamon roll cold foam, a pumpkin spice latte, a salted maple brown sugar cold foam, and a pumpkin spice dalgona, all available until late night.

Najjar said Haute Coffee has a “simple, clean and classy aesthetic,” with designs that serve as a callback to the original coffee truck business. He started the coffee truck because he was looking for a fulfilling new career after leaving the retail phone business — a career that brought people together.
“The coffee business connects with everyone from all races, all cultures, all religions,” Najjar said. “Coffee connects everyone.”
“We’re excited to serve the community,” he said, of himself and his best friend, Karim Zahriya, who owns the new cafe. “I’m from Elk Grove, so it feels great to bring our concept home.”
Haute Coffee is open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays to Thursdays and 7 a.m. to midnight Fridays and Sundays.
