Instead of driving to a pumpkin patch this autumn, you can take a train instead.
The River Fox Train is selling tickets for its Pumpkin Patch Express, a seasonal ride on the rails to an “exclusive” pumpkin patch.

According to the River Fox website, the pumpkin patch is a collaboration with Dave’s Pumpkin Patch, of West Sacramento’s Vierra Farms. At the patch, each ticketed guest can choose a pumpkin to take home.
The Pumpkin Patch Express leaves from the River Fox’s boarding area at 18095 County Rd. 117 in West Sacramento. These seasonal train journeys are scheduled at 10 a.m. on every Saturday and Sunday in October. Wearing costumes, notes the River Fox website, is encouraged.

Tickets are $109.94, and free for children under 3.
The experience includes hot cider and donuts, and other drinks and snacks are available for purchase.
The River Fox Train also runs other seasonal excursions, such as the Magical Christmas Train and the Easter Egg Express. The rest of the year, the heritage train line also features other experiences, with rides centering local beers, wine, and afternoon tea.
