The Buffalo Bills will be without wide receiver Joshua Palmer when they face the Los Angeles Rams, leaving Josh Allen with one fewer option for a key Week 5 matchup.

Buffalo’s public relations account announced Palmer’s inactive status Saturday. The ruling gives the Bills limited time to adjust their receiving rotation before traveling to Los Angeles.
Palmer’s absence matters because he has contributed as a depth receiver and has already produced three catches for 80 yards and two touchdowns this season.
The Bills could need more from their remaining pass catchers, particularly if another receiver is unavailable. DJ Moore is listed as questionable after missing practice earlier in the week before returning on a limited basis Saturday. His status should not be treated as settled until the team confirms whether he can play.

If Moore is unavailable or limited, Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman could see more opportunities, while tight end Dalton Kincaid gives Allen another option over the middle. Rookie Skyler Bell could also be in line for his NFL debut.

Buffalo must also account for the absence of defensive tackle Ed Oliver, who has been ruled out. That creates a separate concern for the defense, but Palmer’s status is the main change to Allen’s group of targets.
The Bills enter the matchup at 3-1, so they will be looking to keep their strong start on track despite the late-week roster change. Allen’s ability to distribute the ball among the available receivers will be important, especially if the passing game loses another option.
Palmer is confirmed out, while Moore remains questionable. Buffalo’s final receiving plan will depend on who is available, but Allen and the coaching staff must prepare to play without Palmer against the Rams.
