Which Bears to Start and Sit in Week 5 at Packers

Fantasy football managers face some important decisions heading into the Chicago Bears’ Week 5 matchup against the Green Bay Packers. With the Bears looking to build on their recent success, several players could deliver strong fantasy performances, while others might not provide enough production to justify a spot in your starting lineup.

D’Andre Swift and Rome Odunze headline the Bears’ fantasy options this week, while Chicago’s defense could take advantage of a Packers offense that has struggled to establish its running game. Here are the Bears players to start and sit in fantasy football for Week 5 at Green Bay.

START: D’Andre Swift

The Packers rank 31st in fantasy points allowed to running backs this season. They have allowed opposing running backs to surpass 100 yards from scrimmage in each game, along with multiple touchdowns.

Swift should serve as Chicago’s lead back with Kyle Monangai sidelined this week. He can produce both as a runner and as a receiver, giving him multiple paths to a strong fantasy performance.

With an expanded workload potentially on the horizon, Swift is an appealing starting option for fantasy managers in Week 5.

SIT: Tyson Bagent

If you need a quarterback because of roster limitations, avoid picking up Bagent as a desperation starter, even if you are a loyal Bears fan. His road performance and statistical track record offer little reason for confidence.

Chicago could still generate a few explosive plays with Bagent under center. However, he likely won’t produce enough fantasy points to justify starting him over more reliable options.

Bagent might be worth considering in deeper leagues, but fantasy managers should look elsewhere for a Week 5 starter.

START: Rome Odunze

Odunze started to find his rhythm last week and could have plenty of opportunities to build on that performance against Green Bay. The Packers’ secondary is strongest in the slot, where Luther Burden III operates, potentially giving Odunze favorable opportunities elsewhere on the field.

Odunze also remains a promising option to find the end zone. With the potential for a healthy target share, he has the upside to deliver a big fantasy performance in Week 5.

Fantasy managers should feel comfortable putting Odunze in their starting lineups.

START: Bears D/ST

Chicago’s defense has been red-hot, forcing takeaways, limiting opponents’ scoring and dominating over the past three weeks.

The Packers’ struggles to establish their running game could play directly into the Bears’ hands. If Green Bay cannot consistently move the ball on the ground, Jordan Love may need to attempt more passes, giving Chicago additional opportunities to generate turnovers.

Given the defense’s recent form and its potential to create disruptive plays, the Bears’ D/ST is a strong fantasy option in Week 5.
