Two players land six-figure jackpots days apart at Sacramento-area casino

Two Elk Grove players hit separate six-figure poker jackpots worth a combined $370,000 at Sky River Casino in Elk Grove.

The first win came Sept. 29 when a player won $135,676 after being dealt the coveted five aces hand while playing “Face Up Pai Gow Poker,” the casino said in a news release.

The second came Oct. 2 when a player took home a $236,254 progressive jackpot with a royal flush while playing “Ultimate Texas Hold’em.”

The second player told casino workers he planned to use the winnings to pay bills.

“When a jackpot hits, the excitement spreads beyond the winning player,” said Michael J. Facenda, president and general manager of Sky River Casino. “The entire casino gets caught up in the moment.”

The casino, which opened in 2022, spans 100,000 square feet with more than 2,500 slot machines and more than 80 table games. It has 18 restaurants and bars.

Owned by the Wilton Rancheria in partnership with Boyd Gaming Corporation, the casino is located at 1 Sky River Parkway in Elk Grove, about a 15-mile drive southeast from downtown Sacramento.
