Miami and the New York Jets are not yet required to issue official Week 7 practice reports, so Wednesday’s injury comparison is a monitoring report rather than a list of game designations. The Dolphins are on their bye, while the Jets are preparing to play New England before facing Miami on Oct. 25.

Miami’s most immediate concern is the group that missed or was limited during Tuesday’s voluntary bye-week work. Linebacker Jordyn Brooks was absent after dealing with a foot issue during the Cincinnati game. Right guard Jonah Savaiinaea also did not practice after leaving Sunday with an ankle injury. Coach Jeff Hafley said Monday that Savaiinaea was doing OK, but his availability will not become clearer until Miami resumes normal game-week work.
Running back Jaylen Wright, edge rusher Robert Beal Jr., cornerback Reese Taylor and receiver Caleb Douglas also sat out Tuesday. Wright played against Cincinnati after being listed with a foot injury. Beal has been dealing with a hamstring injury, Taylor with a quadriceps problem and Douglas with an ankle injury.
The secondary has additional questions. JuJu Brents left the Bengals game with a stinger after earning the game’s highest Pro Football Focus grade. Safety Michael Taaffe was listed with a chest injury. Cornerback Storm Duck and Darrell Baker Jr. are eligible to return from reserve lists, but eligibility does not guarantee immediate activation.
Tight end Justin Joly remains in the concussion protocol. Running back De’Von Achane is on injured reserve with a knee injury and is not expected to return for the Jets game. Miami also continues to carry Ronnie Harrison Jr., Kyle Louis, Trey Moore, Rene Konga and Cole Turner on reserve lists.

Injured Jets
New York’s current health picture belongs first to its Week 6 game. Running back Breece Hall has been listed with a quadriceps issue. Guard Dylan Parham has a knee injury, linebacker Kiko Mauigoa a quadriceps injury, receiver Adonai Mitchell a finger problem and tight end Kenyon Sadiq a concussion. Their participation against New England and any setbacks from that game will determine their relevance to Miami.
The matchup consequence is clearest in the trenches and secondary. If Savaiinaea cannot return, Jarrett Kingston is the likely replacement against a Jets defense with 17 sacks. If Brents, Taylor or Duck remain unavailable, Miami will again ask young defensive backs to handle a primary receiver, this time Garrett Wilson.
The next reliable checkpoint comes when Miami returns to practice. Until then, no player should be described as officially out or cleared for Week 7 unless the club announces it.
