Forgotten Bakery is coming to 2107 L St. in the Lavender Heights district in midtown. Since its opening in 2024, the bakery has become well-known for its savory bagel sandwiches.
The bakery’s menu includes the “Forgotten Bagel” with scallion cream cheese, pickled jalapenos, and smoked bacon and a “Dad’s Club” with smoked bacon, turkey, tomato, red onions, arugula and avocado dressed in deli mustard and the bakery’s house aioli. It also sells a specialty “La Diabla” bagel sandwich with turkey sausage, eggs, scallion cream cheese, hot honey, red onions and habanero sauce.
Forgotten Bakery also lets its customers craft their own bagel sandwiches.
On their website, the bakery owners said they take pride in their bagel-making process that takes “no shortcuts.”
“At Forgotten Bakery, we make hand-rolled bagels in Sacramento using high-quality, unbleached flour for the perfect chew and texture,” the owners said. “Our dough is slow-fermented for 16 hours to build deeper flavor, then kettle-boiled and baked fresh daily.”

The bakery’s empanada menu is just as diverse. Forgotten Bakery’s “Empanada Guide” includes five different types: beef pino, guava cream cheese, spinach cheese, fried cheese and Chilean classic beef. Its empanadas are made in house and baked daily.
Alongside the bagels and empanadas, Forgotten Bakery offers drinks ranging from a tropical hibiscus iced tea to a pistachio creme cold brew, a caramel macchiato and a pumpkin spice latte.
The original Forgotten Bakery, 4650 Stockton Blvd., is in Colonial Heights and owned by Robby Naim and Paul Dollar, according to its website. During its time in business, Forgotten Bakery has won local accolades with the Sacramento Jewish Food Faire honoring it with three awards including “Sacramento’s Best Bagel.”
An opening date for the Lavender Heights shop has not been announced.
