A three-year-old was struck by a bullet fired from a neighboring apartment in West Sacramento Friday afternoon, West Sacramento police reported.

Police said officers responded at approximately 1:50 p.m. to a call of shots fired in the 3400 block of Evergreen Circle. It was determined the gunfire came from a nearby apartment and a bullet had gone through a wall hitting the toddler.
The toddler was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The suspected shooter was located and arrested and police said no others were thought to have been involved. The person’s identity was not released.
