Angel Reese is a gold medalist.
The third-year WNBA star helped lead the USA women’s basketball team to a gold medal at the FIBA Women’s World Cup. Team USA topped France in the gold medal game on Sunday afternoon.

Team USA, led by veteran players like Breanna Stewart, Jackie Young and Napheesa Collier, took down an impressive France team in the gold medal game on Sunday. The WNBA went on a two-week break for the FIBA Women’s World Cup.
The American will be returning home with a gold medal in impressive fashion.
Reese, meanwhile, is quite happy. The former LSU Tigers and Maryland Terrapins star won a national title in college. She’s now adding to her trophy collection with a World Cup gold medal.
“Came for Gold. Earned Gold,” Team USA boasted on social media.
Reese taunted her critics with a simple message: “I came here for something and I’m not leaving without it, OK?”
WNBA fans praise Team USA for winning gold
Jason Whitlock was among those praising Team USA head coach Kara Lawson.
“Can’t wait to hear how stupid Kara Lawson was for sticking with Chelsea Gray and the veterans. Lawson had a plan, trusted her vets to withstand France. Great victory. Congrats to Lawson and Stephanie White,” he shared on X.

ESPN’s David Dennis Jr. took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to praise Lawson for her work with the team, too.
“Give Kara Lawson her flowers. First time. No A’ja. Stuck to her guns with her vet lineup despite the dumbest people telling her to abandon it. High pressure and the closest thing to an underdog game Team USA has had in like ever and was perfect,” he shared.
Another WNBA fan added: “Put some respect on Kara Lawson. Some of y’all were talking reckless.”

Team USA is bringing home the gold and they are very happy about it.
